The 2024 Regional Human Development Report (RHDR) Reflects Vulnerability to Climate Change and Environmental Changes

Amidst pressure from the crisis of climate change and the loss of biodiversity, the risk to people in the Asia-Pacific region and Thailand has increased for more than 200 million individuals. This is a result of actions from wealthier nations that leave a larger ecological footprint.

The aforementioned situation and other crucial information are presented in The 2024 Regional Human Development Report (RHDR), unveiled by UNDP on November 15, 2566. Mr. Renaud Meyer, the representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Thailand, presided over the event, with Mr. Donchai Pichayanan, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), delivering a special address.

The Thailand Environmental Institute, led by Ms. Benjamas Chotthong, Director of Project Development and Planning Program, actively participated in the event, encouraging all stakeholders to prioritize collaborative efforts in designing a more sustainable future. This particularly emphasizes the clear connection between the well-being of vulnerable groups and environmental crises.
