19 Feb 2020 – Songkhla Community Foundation (SCF) and Thailand Environment Institute Foundation (TEI) visited two municipalities; Patong Municipality in Patong Sub-district, located in Hat Yai District, and Padang Besar Municipality in Sadao District. In both meetings, SCF and TEI introduced SUCCESS project, led by Dr Pakamas, and discussed key urban challenges, climate impacts and disaster risks with political leaders, including Deputy Mayor, state actors, including City Clerk and Sub-district Head, and their representatives of local civil society and community-based organisations. The main purpose of the meetings was to explore potential opportunities for collaboration and engagement under the project. Both municipalities, together with local CSO representatives expressed great interests and were keen to participate in the Shared Learning Dialogues, which will take place in Project Year 1. 20 Feb 2020 – Songkhla Community Foundation (SCF) and Thailand Environment Institute Foundation (TEI) had a meeting with Satun Municipality to engage with key decision-makers, including Deputy Mayor, City Clerk, and Head of Public Works, as well as representatives of local civil society organisations, under SUCCESS project, led by Dr Pakamas. The meeting was to introduce SUCCESS project and discuss possible participation in dialogues in urban and climate change challenges and capacity building activities of the project. On 11th -14Th November 2019, The first meetings of the SUCCESS project, funded by the European Union (Strengthening urban climate governance for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable societies in Thailand project) between the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), and the implementing partners, Songkhla Community Foundation (SCF) and Centre for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM), aim to discuss the scope and set up project management and administration for the implementation in both regions for the next five years.
